The Vermont State House, originally built in 1859, is still the seat of government for the state. Visitors to the historic monument will be amazed by the distinctive gold leaf dome as well as the fine examples of both Neoclassical and Greek Revival architecture exhibited in the facade. The historic building is located on the western outskirt of the city, just north of the river.
